Watch this video on London sights. It contains most of the vocabulary we have seen for "Places in Town".
The activity you have to do while watching the video is to write down what the speaker says on each of the slides. You also have to answer the questions he asks.

I found this video on WatchKnowLearn.org It actually comes from YouTube and was produced by Geography Tutor.   The video investigates various types of land forms: mountains, plains, islands; and water forms: oceans, rivers, tides and much more. You can see pictures for each landform and listen to their definitions and how these landmasses were formed. The activity you have to do is to compare the list of geographical features we have seen in Unit 4 in our book and take note of the new ones we didn't see in the book.

Listening Activity

Before you listen to this audio on a Night Out in Newcastle, consider the following questions:
 1. Where is Newcastle?
 2. What sort of places do you think will be mentioned in the description?
 3. Are you more interested in knowing a city by day or by night?
 4. What activities do you do in the evening at weekends?


After listening to the audio decide if the following statements are True or False:
1.  Newcastle is a very old city.
2.  Young people go to Newcastle to go to the ‘Theatre Royal’.
3.    The Big Market is the name of a theatre.
4.   Women go to ‘stag parties’ the night before they get married.
5.  The Tuxedo Royale is very popular.
6. Tuxedo Royale is the name of a ferry which goes to Northern Ireland.
7. People don’t wear much at night because the weather in Newcastle is normally very warm.
8.   You can only get into some clubs if you dress as a policeman.
9.  There is no police presence in Newcastle at night.
10. Only people from the area go out at night in Newcastle.

Speaking Activity (Classwork)
 Discuss the following questions with your classmate:
1. How does a night out in Newcastle differ from a night out in your town?
2. Which of the places mentioned in the text would you most like to visit? Why?
3. What do men in Spain do the night before they marry?
4. What do women in Spain do the night before they marry?
5. What places would you advise a foreign visitor to go to for an evening out in your town?
